NEWS

The Twigs’ most recent CD, “You Say Ah” satisfies fans old and new.  Twin sisters Laura and Linda Good weave together their trademark harmonies and quirky lyrics into modern cosmic pop.  Adulterous neighbors, holy visions and flirty aliens all happily co-exist in The Twig’s unusual universe on this 5-song EP.  It was recorded all over the world — from Sydney, Australia to Hollywood to New York City — all on the sisters’ respective Mac laptops.  Guest appearances include Pete McNeal (Cake, Rickie Lee Jones), Joe Berardi and Marc Doten (00 Spy Car), Gerald Menke (Mercury Rev, Super Furry Animals), Greg Collins (Gwen Stefani, U2) and Dan Carlson.  “You Say Ah” mixes distorted guitars with vintage keyboard lines and lucid mellotrons underlying The Twig’s intriguing tales of envy and ecstasy.

The Twigs will be touring this summer (2010). Currently the Twigs have been recording in Los Angeles and will be releasing new music this fall.

Linda News:

Linda’s first solo CD, “Love is a Curious Thing” is now available on iTunes.  The single “Love Is…” was featured on the new 90210 (CW), and reached the top 5 requested songs on KCRW.  Her previous side projects have included playing keys touring and recording with Jane’s Addiction, The Mars Volta (Universal), Lisa Marie Presley (Capitol) and the poptronica band Bitter:Sweet (Quango.)  She also produced the debut album for the alt country duo The Shaker Sisters, from which the song “All Night Through” was heard on HBO’s mega hit True Blood.  She also frequently collaborates with James Combs as The Plush Interiors. The award-winning video for their song, “Lately I Wonder,” was directed by Michael Klima for Eyestorm Productions.  See the video here.

Laura News:

Laura is currently working on several projects, a CD inspired by her stint living in Australia and the requisite children’s CD (the natural result of having a four year old who loves to sing).  After collaborating with several Aussie music stars including radio darlings Lazy Susan, Laura moved to Nashville where she fit right in with other new “rocker moms”.  She eased right into the music scene and was selected for ASCAP’s pop writers workshop with hit songwriter Daryl Brown (Keith Urban, Faith Hill) right before the birth of her daughter.  Living in music city was a great place to learn how to balance music and motherhood and her song “Baby Don’t Cry” is already becoming a most requested song among the Pre-K set.

Laura now divides her time between the mountains of the Southeast and Los Angeles where she is enjoying working on new Twig’s music and the music supervision for indie films (look for “Morning Commute”, dir. Aaron Vanek to be released 2010).
